Why do some websites quote only ₹78,000?
₹78,000 is the central cap used for general-category states. J&K benefits from a special-category central rate under the published MNRE rules.
Do 4 kW and 5 kW systems get more subsidy?
The supported residential central CFA and UT top-up are capped at 3 kW. A 4 kW or 5 kW eligible household system may receive the same capped amount as 3 kW, not more.
What are DCR panels?
DCR refers to Domestic Content Requirement. PM Surya Ghar CFA requires domestically manufactured solar modules that use domestically manufactured cells compliant with the applicable rules.
Can I get subsidy for my shop?
The residential CFA generally does not apply to ordinary commercial or industrial electricity connections.
What is the best solar panel technology?
TOPCon, mono PERC and bifacial technologies have different characteristics. Compare actual certified modules, site fit, warranties and compliance rather than simply choosing a buzzword.
Will my home have electricity during a power cut?
A standard grid-tied on-grid solar inverter normally shuts down during an outage for safety. Backup requires a properly engineered hybrid or battery arrangement.
Will solar eliminate the entire electricity bill?
Solar may reduce energy charges, but fixed charges, consumption, net metering, tariff rates and generation can leave a remaining bill.
Is there a loan for solar rooftop?
Yes, banks including J&K Bank have solar products. Eligibility, margin, interest benchmark and repayment terms vary by bank and system capacity.
What is net metering?
Net metering is a regulated method of accounting for electricity imported from and exported to the grid. Exact terms are set by the relevant electricity commission and DISCOM.
Do solar systems need cleaning?
Panels generally require periodic cleaning and visual checks. Avoid unsafe rooftop access and follow the manufacturer and installer instructions.
How much roof area is needed?
It depends on module efficiency, orientation, spacing, access and layout. A roof survey is needed for exact dimensions.
Is this a government website?

Can I apply directly without an installer?
