Solar loans can make an installation affordable, but a low advertised rate alone does not tell the whole story. Compare total repayment, fees, subsidy handling and the bank's rules.
Which local loan products exist?
J&K Bank lists a PM Surya Ghar solar product with 5% margin up to 3 kW and 10% margin above 3 kW, a maximum of 81 EMIs after moratorium and an interest-rate formula tied to RLLR.
J&K Grameen Bank also publishes solar lending criteria, including project finance caps that differ for systems up to and above 3 kW.
What happens when the subsidy arrives?
Some lenders require subsidy payment into the loan account and then adjust the remaining repayment schedule. You may initially be financed against the higher installed price, not the price net of estimated subsidy.
